I think this is the best garment I have ever made.
I still consider myself on the beginner side of intermediate when it comes to sewing, since I have followed commercial patterns and not much else. But I felt as though my skills got a little more refined with this one, since I adapted a pattern, and had to deal with print matching (a new concept for me!).
It all started when I found this incredible pixel fabric, and knew it would be perfect for a dress to wear to PAX East (on our non-cosplay day). For some reason, I see it as a floral print – but maybe I’m just imagining things? 🙂
Every year, we alternate between spending Christmas with my family and with my in-laws (we do the same for Thanksgiving).
Last month we celebrated Thanksgiving in New Jersey, which would usually mean Christmas in New York with my family. However, my parents also have a house in Florida and that’s where they were going to be this year. My brothers both live in FL full time, and the older one kindly offered to host.
This past Saturday, I was featured over at Cut Out + Keep as a DIY Fashionista!
I answered a set of interview questions, and also provided a tutorial for an item I am wearing this outfit:
Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday!
I adore costumes (as proven by my obsession with cosplay), and of course I also love any excuse to eat lots of candy 🙂
Wow, this post is looooong overdue!
I think I took these photos in early August. You know, when the weather was consistently awesome – unlike the 30s one minute, high 7os the next that we have been experiencing lately in MA.
I guess I can’t complain…at least we have had some warm afternoons this October!
