plaid with plaid

I can’t believe it’s almost 2017!  The end of the year is always crazy due to the holidays, and we have been spending our past few weekends meeting up with friends and family.  It’s certainly nice to catch up with everyone, but I wish we had just one day between now and New Year’s where we could relax at home and do nothing.

Yesterday, we ended up going to Dave’s work party in Dedham.  It was only about 10 minutes away from Cutler Park Reservation, so we decided to head over there beforehand to snap some photos.

I wore this gorgeous plaid skirt from Stylewe to the party, and it had the perfect festive holiday vibe.  I had never ordered from them before, but was very happy with the experience! The skirt is fully lined (even the pockets!) and oh so comfy!   I don’t usually like skirts with elastic, but this one doesn’t add any bulk and I love that the front is nice and flat.

I also ordered a sweater which I will feature here soon!

I paired the plaid skirt with some plaid heels.  I’m sure that’s a fashion faux pas, but I really liked how they looked together.  Who says you can’t mix plaids?!  🙂

My accessories included a really cool Lucite collar necklace and an adorable typewriter bag:

Thank you so much to Stylewe for sending me this skirt, and I hope you all have an amazing week!

Thank you so much, Patrick! I agree on the pocket thing too…adding pockets to a skirt or dress instantly makes it twice as amazing!! 🙂

Thanks Sara! It’s good to know the mixed plaids worked out, and the typewriter bag is one of my faves! 🙂
