my birthday celebration!

First, I want to apologize for the crazy number of photos!  I had a hard time narrowing them down because they kept making me laugh 🙂  Plus, it was my birthday so I’m allowed to post an excessive amount of pics!

As you know, my husband Dave is a super sweet guy, and he wanted to make my birthday special.  He kept asking things like, “Do you want to go out to a special dinner?” or “Should I plan a big party?”  For some reason, this year I didn’t feel like doing anything big or crazy (does this mean I’m getting old?!? lol)

On Thursday (my actual birthday), we stayed home and ate leftovers.  I originally wanted Thai food, but it was more important to me to make sure that our leftover pasta with burrata cheese was consumed before it went bad.  It was such a delicious meal, and Dave even brought home cannoli from Mike’s Pastry for dessert (I told you…such a sweetie!).

On Saturday, we decided to go out with some of our friends to celebrate.   But instead of a lavish dinner outing at a fancy restaurant, I was craving Tasty Burger!

Tasty Burger is essentially a diner-style fast food joint and is one of my top five foods in Boston.  Seriously.

I have eaten at some of the most notable restaurants in the city, indulged in countless meals throughout Boston, and have attended many foodie events.  But I keep going back to the Tasty Burger.  Call it a guilty pleasure!  There’s just something about the thin patty, soft bun, melty cheese, crisp lettuce, special sauce and side of cheese fries…I can’t get enough!

I’m already salivating – so let’s move on.

Let’s talk about this purse!  It’s from Betsy Johnson, and it is available in many different colors/styles.  I have had my eyes on them for at least a year, but they were always too expensive for me 😦

About two months ago I saw that ModCloth had one on clearance for around $40, so I promptly and eagerly added it to my cart.  However, by the time I went to pay, it was already sold out!

I told the sad tale to my mom, who then did what any other mom would do – she bought one as a gift for my birthday!

When I opened up the package, I couldn’t stop squealing with delight!! THANKS SO MUCH, MOM AND DAD!!!!! 🙂

I love that I can plug the attached handset into my iPhone and use it for real.  I actually called my parents and said, “I’m calling you…from my new purse!”

(FYI, I fiiiiinaalllllyyyy jumped on the Jessica Simpson flat bandwagon that every other blogger seems to be on.  And yes, they are awesome. PS: Also a gift from my parents)

If you read my post where I met Sara, you know I am very jealous of her posing abilities, especially her dainty hands.  Here I am trying to channel my inner Sara…not perfect, but I’m working on it!

Now, back to Tasty Burger:

After dinner all I could think about was bowling, and thankfully my friends were up for it!  That, or they only agreed because it was my birthday.  Either way, I’m happy we made it there!

I really wanted to share this last photo, and draw your attention to my left hand.  I’m not sure if it’s due to all the hand posing I was doing earlier in the day, or just a crazy thing I happen to do when I’m bowling:
