boston chili bowl

On Saturday, Dave and I went to the Great Boston Chili Bowl.  Local restaurants serve up portions of their best chili, accompanied by beverages from local breweries.  The event is currently in its third year, and all proceeds go to ALS research.

This was our second time attending, and it was awesome!  Once you get in the doors it’s all you can eat/drink, and of course that’s right up my alley 🙂

Dave and I made sure to eat lightly that morning so we would maximize the amount of chili we could consume that afternoon.  My favorites were definitely the spicy beef chilis…I’m salivating just thinking about them!

Whenever we go to these all-you-can-eat events, we try to pace ourselves.  We have made mistakes in the past, eating everything in sight the second we get there – this always results in upset stomachs and disappointment.  On Saturday, however, we managed to eat as much as we wanted to and didn’t feel like we had to roll ourselves out of there.  Mission accomplished!

I’m so glad that it’s finally starting to feel warm.  It’s supposed to be in the high 60s on Wednesday!  It has been sunny and bright in the mornings, and it’s great that the sun goes down much later in the day now too.

A bright and sunny day certainly calls for a bright outfit.  At first I was just wearing the top and skirt, but I needed a little more color.  So I grabbed my bright yellow belt and it ended up being the perfect accessory!

I’m also wearing a fun little necklace I made.  Honestly, I can barely say that I “made” it, since it was so easy.  I found this cute mini sewing machine in the dollhouse section of Michaels, which I purchased with a 50% off coupon.  Then, I looped a chain through the handwheel.  That was it!

All you can eat chili and local brewery beverages? Yes, please! And kudos to you guys for figuring out how to pace yourselves…when it comes to all you can eat events, I’m terrible at this. Haha.

Your outfit is so cute! I love how bright and spring-like it is! And your belt was the perfect addition. 🙂 We’re supposed to hit the 60s this week, too! It’s been so cold lately…I’m afraid we’re all going to go into shock when that happens. Haha.

I hope you have a great week, Jen!

Yummmmmmm! I’d eat all the chili and let Cody drink all the beers. We have a system down pat – he brings me on brewery tours or festivals bc he gets all my samples! HA! Hey, it works! I love the necklace – I never think of doing that but it’s so simple! I bet there’s a lot of items at craft stores that you can transform!
