(pssst….at the end of this post, I have included some photos from my UK TV appearance!)
On New Year’s Eve, Dave and I went to the Boston Public Library for their holiday tea service! We have had their afternoon tea twice before and really enjoyed it, so we were excited to see that there was a special holiday menu.
Of course, we first checked out the pre-First Night festivities, such as the ice sculptures and Keytar Bear 🙂
Since the tea is held at the library, each place setting has an old book with the menu inside. Such a cute touch! The food is typical for afternoon tea, however this service included winter-themed desserts. (The “holiday tea” was $5 more per person than their regular tea, and we decided it was not really worth the extra cost. But still fun and tasty!)
One of the best things about tea at the Boston Public Library is the view of the courtyard! Dave and I decided to walk around after we were done eating.
I felt awfully classy in this long dress (my friend SaraLily has the same one!), so I paired it with a classy hat from Goorin Bros. This was another free hat from my husband’s ex boss – thanks again, Aline! 🙂
And don’t you just love this little chain chomp pin?! Dave got me a few video game pins for Christmas, and this one was added in as a freebie from Fangamer!
I also wanted to add that the lipstick I’m wearing (which you can see better below), was a gift from my friend Linley. Thanks, girl! 😉

I know…UK TV appearance?
As you may or may not know, in addition to being a music teacher, I am also a paper crafter. This means that I make greeting cards and other random paper crafts. In April of 2014, I decided to start designing rubber stamps, and co-founded a stamp company (Altenew) with a friend of mine.
Well anyway, this past weekend I was in Anaheim, CA for CHA (Craft and Hobby Association), which is a huge crafting trade show. In addition to working the Altenew booth, I was also filmed for Create and Craft TV – kind of like a crafting HSN/QVC which is based in the UK.
You can watch the show HERE, although the video will expire in a few days. (by the way, I haven’t even watched it myself – I’m too scared/embarrassed!)
Here are a few behind-the-scenes photos:
I had to talk about the company and the stamps that we designed for this month’s release, as well as do a few live demos. My mom (or “Mum,” as the host says) was in the studio with me, and the rest of my family was back home watching live. I was so nervous and made a few mistakes, but it was such a fun experience!
